Simple Backdrops For Food Shots

Updated: May 26, 2020

SOME OF THE EASIEST, YET MOST APPEALING BACKDROPS CAN BE FOUND IN THE MOST UNIQUE PLACES!

In my food photography journey I started off like most other people. Wanting the beautiful backdrops and place settings, without having the large budget for prop rentals and styling. Then I realized some of the best surfaces to shoot food on weren't new and store brought.

I love the use of wood textures or even an old sheet pan and cast iron skillet to use in my shots. They are perfect for not reflecting too much camera light on the days Im shooting with a lot of lighting equipment. I also enjoy the use of a good wooden or eccentric looking bowl or a nicely designed plate to place my food items on.

FOOD DIGITAL BACKDROPS

Backdrops are even simpler to get your hands on now than before with the use of the internet and all its free content. Search bokeh back drops and more that will add a nice effect to your image and simply place your food item infant of the direct search engine screen or print it out on a nice card stock to keep on hand.

You don't have to spend hundreds on material and lighting or even a camera. There are more people doing amazing work with phones these days as well. Ge out and get shooting!
